Day 1: Departure from the U.S.
Depart from Chicago
Day 2: Soweto and Mandela Story
Arrive Johannesburg @1.05pm by ET (Ethiopian Airlines). Meet and greet and transfer for the Soweto Tour. Visit Nelson Mandela’s house and explore Vilikazi Street where 2 Nobel Peace Prize Winners, Nelson Mandela & Archbishop Tutu lived in the same street.
Dinner at local Restaurant and overnight at City Centre Hotel

Day 3: Johannesburg and Transfer to Pietermaritzburg
After breakfast check out, experience a City Tour of Johannesburg. Then leave for Pietermaritzburg by road optional Dinner with cultural program, (Cost $90 additional)

Day 4: Gandhi Legacy and Mandela Capture Site
After breakfast, transfer to the Pietermaritzburg Railway Station to attend the commemorative event marking the moment Gandhi was removed from a first-class carriage. Stand at the very site where a single act of injustice transformed Gandhi from a young lawyer into a global voice for nonviolent resistance. This formal ceremony is one of the most prestigious events on the KwaZulu-Natal calendar and is attended by government dignitaries. After the program, explore Project Gateway with Reverend Jabu, who will guide the group through the historic former prison where Kasturba Gandhi was once held. Walk through the corridors of this former colonial jail—once used for hanging convicts—and trace the personal and family sacrifices behind Gandhi’s movement. Visit the Nelson Mandela Capture Site before traveling onward to Durban. Enjoy lunch with dignitaries at the station, then continue to Durban for dinner and overnight at a beachfront hotel.

Day 5: Durban Heritage and Phoenix Settlement
City Tour of Durban followed by a visit to the Ohlange Institute, where President Nelson Mandela cast his first vote in a democratic South Africa. Thereafter, spend the day at Phoenix Settlement, founded by Mahatma Gandhi in 1904, where he lived, worked, and developed the principles of nonviolent resistance that would later guide global movements for justice and freedom. Engage with Ela Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi’s granddaughter) and her team, who continue preserving his legacy through community empowerment and social development programs. Lunch at Phoenix Settlement with dignitaries and the Gandhi team.

Overnight: Durban

Day 6: Safari Adventure in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi
Day trip to Hluhluwe Umfolozi for a Safari experience to view the BIG 5
Lunch at the Safari Park
Dinner in Durban at Indian Restaurant—will invite the Consul General of India and Gandhi members to attend.

Day 7: Capetown Arrival and Waterfront Evening
Check out and transfer to King Shaka Airport for flight to Cape Town. On arrival experience a City Tour and an evening at V& A Waterfront with dinner. Accommodation at Holiday Inn Express City Centre

Day 8: Table Mountain and Robben Island
Full Day Table Mountain and Robben Island Tour. Evening optional Dinner at Grandwest Entertainment Centre [Cost: $90 Additional)

Day 9: Cape Peninsula Scenic Tour
Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour visiting the following :
- Hout Bay for Seal Island Boat Cruise
- Boulders Beach to view the African Penguins
- Cape Point National Park to see the meeting of the Indian and Atlantic Ocean meet
Evening at Canal Walk with dinner

Day 10: Departure from Cape Town
Check out and transfer to Cape Town International for homeward bound flight
